The Cultural Romania Association and the PeleÈ™ National Museum invite you on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 12:30 p.m., to the opening of the photography exhibition ""QUEEN SOLDIER".

The photography exhibition "Queen Soldier" will be exhibited in the Hall of Honor of Pelișor Castle, between October 29 and November 29, 2017.

In the 45 photographic panels, the Sovereign of Romania is depicted, the one who wanted to identify with the suffering of the Romanian people, a century ago, during the First World War, getting intensely involved in the health service, organizing field hospitals, social canteens, shelters for the poor, food warehouses and more. She is the only Queen who, in those difficult times, did not know the fear of bullets, bombs or even epidemics, being seen daily in field hospitals to comfort the suffering, to distribute medicine, food and blankets to wounded soldiers or those suffering from typhus. And she did not stop there! Dressed in the indispensable uniform of a nurse, our Sovereign even went to the front, fearlessly descending into the "trenches of death" to encourage her soldiers!

For her courageous attitude during World War I, General Prezan decorated her with the war medal – Military Virtue, 1st class, and the Count of Saint Aulaire – the French Minister in Romania, presented her with the Gold Medal of Epidemics and the War Cross (La Croix de Guerre). Since then, our Queen has also been called the SOLDIER QUEEN!

We therefore invite you to "join hands" and together pay homage to our Queen, Sunday, October 29, 2017.
