Between September 26-29, 2018, the National Institute for Cultural Research and Training organized in Bucharest the 26th Congress of Cultural Management and Cultural Policies, an event under the aegis of the European Year of Cultural Heritage and under the High Patronage of the President of Romania.
The Congress was organized for the first time in Eastern Europe, Romania being chosen as the host country precisely to mark the Centennial Year of the Great Union and to highlight the importance of Romanian heritage in the European context. The main goal of this project, funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Identity through the Centennial program, was to promote the Centennial of the Great Union at an international level.
Two of the main events that marked both the congress and the participants' experience were the Religious Heritage Torch initiatives and the working visits hosted by local partners, on which occasion they also visited the Romanian capital. Also, within the ENCATC Congress, Romanian values were promoted through the organization of artistic and cultural moments, as well as through two exhibitions that illustrated the architectural heritage of Bucharest and the national one.
