The Year of Kodály marked at Peles Castle

Saturday, May 20, 2017, from 4 p.m., at Peleș Castle in Sinaia, under the auspices of the Kodály Year, holds a recital The Energico Trio from HungaryThe recital is part of the “Sound of Music” Season, organized by the Peleș National Museum and the Union of Interpretive Creation of Musicians in Romania and is part of the tour organized by the Balassi Institute – Hungarian Institute in Bucharest between May 19-21.

"Music is a soul food that nothing can replace. And he who does not consume music suffers and dies from soul anemia. Without music, soul life is incomplete. There are realms of the soul where only music can penetrate." – said Kodály Zoltán (1882-1967), composer, folklorist, pedagogue, linguist and philosopher, one of the most prominent personalities of Hungarian culture in the 20th century. In agreement with these ideas, three students of the Liszt Ferenc University of Music in Budapest: Ilosfai Csenge – violin, Mády-Szabó Eszter – cello, Vida Mónika Ruth – pianowere founded in 2015 Energetic Trio.

Thanks to youthful enthusiasm and talent Energetic Trio has won over both the public and the jury of various competitions since its first appearances in Hungary and abroad. In 2015, the trio won the Excellence Award at the Dohnányi Ernő Chamber Music Competition in Debrecen (Hungary) and the First Prize at the International Premio Citta di Padova (Italy), also performing in the Hungarian pavilion at EXPO Milano, and in 2016 it was invited to the Lancaster International Piano Festival (Great Britain) and was awarded the First Prize at the Danubia Talents Competition (Hungary). They have also participated in live broadcasts by the music channel Bartók Rádió and have given recitals at the Academy of Music, the Palace of Arts, the Institute of Musicology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, respectively in Venice, Padua, Abano Terme, and in the United States of America where they participated in master classes with members of the Shanghai Quartet.

Trio Energico supports this recital as a special guest at the awards gala of the 13th edition of the Hungarian Music Festival organized by the Balassi Institute - Hungarian Institute in Bucharest, a competition dedicated to young classical music performers from Romania, who propose a repertoire including works from Hungarian musical literature.

At Peleș Castle, works by: Felix Mendelssohn, Zoltán Gárdonyi, Zoltán Kodály and Béla Bartók will be performed.
