His teachers were Anca Borina (Music School No. 4) and Constantin Ni\u0163u (Dinu Lipatti High School 1987 \u2013 1990 and George Enescu High School 1990 \u2013 1994). He gave recitals on various stages: the Luxembourg University of Music, the Studio Hall of the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, the George Enescu National Museum, the Constan\u0163a Art Museum, the Mogo\u015foaia Palace, the Pele\u015f Castle, the Radio Hall, etc. Lucian Velciu participated in the professional development program at the Pro College (1998-2001) and in a summer course (July 2002) held in Luxembourg by pianist Dana Protopopescu. The pianist has won the laurels of several competitions: the 2nd prize at the Carl Filtsch Sibiu International Piano Competition \u2013 1997 edition, the 1st Prize and the Grand Prize at the Pro Piano Competition \u2013 2001, Bucharest. His presence on the concert podium began during his university studies when he gave various recitals.
