COMPETITION REGULATIONS\u00a0<\/strong>CARMEN SYLVA 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now in its 9th edition, the goal of the project is for the Pele\u0219 National Museum to contribute to the discovery of talented young people who attend art schools or universities, offering them the opportunity to exhibit their works to a wide audience visiting Peli\u0219or Castle.<\/p>\n

The general objective is to continue the tradition of promoting young artistic talents, started by Queen Elisabeth, a patronage activity continued by Princess Maria, who gathered around her the plastic artists of the time, patronizing the Tinerimea Artistic\u0103 society. In Peli\u0219or Castle there are testimonies of this admirable activity, represented by plastic art works exhibited in the rooms open to the public.
\nThe specific objective of the project is to organize a temporary exhibition at Peli\u0219or Castle for talented young people from across the country, designated winners by a specialized jury.<\/p>\n

All materials used belong to their copyright holders. Contest participants do NOT assign copyright to them.\u00a0The Pele\u0219 National Museum reserves the right to use the works of those registered for NON-PROFIT purposes to promote the Carmen Sylva National Competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

COMPETITION REGULATIONS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The competition is open to all talented young people in the country aged between 7 and 29 and there will be 3 categories of participants:<\/p>\n

\u2013 category I: 7 \u2013 14 years;
\n- 2nd category: 15-21 years;
\n\u2013 category III: 22 \u2013 29 years old;<\/p>\n

The competition disciplines are: drawing, painting, engraving and photography;
\nThe duration of the competition is 5 months, according to the following schedule:
\n\u2013 November 1, 2018 \u2013 April 1, 2019 \u2013 sending 3 personal works, scanned or photocopied, electronically, together with the fully completed registration form; all of these are sent to the museum's email address:\u00a0peles.ro@gmail.com<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 April 1\u201313, 2019 \u2013 preselection and judging of works;
\n\u2013 April 16, 2019 \u2013 announcement of winners on the website;<\/p>\n

\u2013 April 17 \u2013 18, 2019 \u2013 submission of appeals;
\n\u2013 April 19-30, 2019 \u2013 submission of papers;
\n\u2013 May 1 \u2013 31, 2019\u2013 organization of the temporary exhibition for the winners, in the Hall of Honor of Peli\u0219or Castle;
\n\u2013 June 1, 2019 \u2013 inauguration of the temporary exhibition at Peli\u0219or Castle, which will be open to the public until June 30, 2019;
\nThe topic is at the free choice of the participants;
\nRegistration and submission of works takes place using the registration form that you can find on the museum's website:\u00a0www.peles.ro<\/a>\u00a0and on the museum's official Facebook page:\u00a0https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/muzeulnationalpeles<\/strong><\/p>\n

The jury will be made up of members who are specialists in the competition disciplines;
\nThe jury will designate three winners in each competition discipline and for each participant category, a total of 36 talented young people, who will be presented on the museum's official website on April 16, 2019.<\/p>\n

The competition prize will consist of promoting the winners, by setting up a temporary exhibition at Peli\u0219or Castle for 30 days;
\nTo organize the exhibition, the jury will choose one work from the 3 sent by the winners by postal parcel to the headquarters of the Pele\u0219 National Museum, which will be displayed at Peli\u0219or Castle.
\nThe exhibition opening will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2019 and will be open to the public until June 30, 2019.
\nParticipation in the competition is free;
\nA participant can register for multiple disciplines;
\nWorks must not be edited on a computer (except for the Photography category, where changes in editing programs such as Photoshop are accepted);
\nPhotos must be submitted for entry in jpg format with a resolution of 300 dpi, and if selected by the jury, they will be sent in RAW or PNG format at the original resolution;
\nThe deadline for registration is April 13, 2019;<\/p>\n

The deadline for submitting papers is April 30, 2019.
\nThe 5 members of the jury will each award a score from 1-10 for each author, and the winners will be designated in descending order of the score obtained, with the following specifications:
\nThe jury will designate a single work that will be awarded the Grand Prize of the competition.
\nthe maximum score is 50 points;
\nfor the award of the first prize, the minimum score obtained by the competitor is 45 points;
\nfor the award of the second prize, the minimum score obtained by the competitor is 40 points;
\nfor the award of the third prize, the minimum score obtained by the competitor is 35 points;
\nThe announcement of the contest winners will take place on April 16, 2019, on the museum's official website.
\nAppeals will be accepted between April 17 and 18, 2019;
\nThe 36 winners will send the 3 works, in original, by April 30, 2019, in order to arrange the exhibition at Peli\u0219or Castle;<\/p>\n

After the exhibition closes, the works will be returned by the museum via postal parcel.<\/strong><\/p>\n
