The PeleÈ™ National Museum is a partner in the "Creative Centennial" project, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Union.
Within the competition, Romanian artists and creatives are invited to reinterpret heritage elements relevant to the Centennial of the Great Union, whether we are talking about the First World War and the reunification process of Romania, or about moments and personalities relevant to the 100th anniversary of our country.
The "Creative Centennial" object design competition is initiated by Cotroceni National Museum in partnership with Peles National Museum, National Museum of the Union of Alba-Iulia, "Moldova" Museum Complex Iași, Brasov County History Museum and The Institute.
"Creative Centennial" is realized with the support of the Bucharest City Hall through creart – Center for Creation, Art and Tradition, EximBank and CEC Bank and co-financed by National Cultural Fund Administration.
COMPETITION DESCRIPTION
The "Creative Centenary" competition aims to provide creatives with the opportunity to enter into dialogue with cultural institutions and bring a new perspective on the ways of communicating and promoting heritage. Thus, participants will choose an element of heritage relevant to the theme of the competition, which they will reinterpret and translate into a representative product for the 100th anniversary of the Great Union.
Romanian artists and creatives can draw inspiration from the selection of the five museums involved in the project or can make documentary visits for product development.
The competition is launched during the press conference on July 12, 2018. Project proposals can be submitted between July 12 and August 26, 2018, and the winners of the 6 prizes worth 9,000 lei each will be designated by a jury and announced after September 12. They will create a limited series of products, which will be promoted through micro-exhibitions organized by the partners involved in the project, in October and November.
The awards are granted by the National Cultural Fund Administration, the Bucharest City Hall through creart – the Center for Creation, Art and Tradition, Eximbank and CEC Bank.
